From ship to tanker, in one plant.
Furnace oil, light diesel oil and re-refined lubricating oil, recovered at Alang and processed in our own plant at Mamsa. SN500 base oil and paving bitumen, imported from the Gulf. Every tanker leaves with its test report.

Wiped-film reclamation
Black in. Straw out. Six steps at Mamsa.
Used lubricating oil, mostly from the engine rooms of ships cut at Alang, goes through two columns: one for water and the light cut, one thin-film evaporator under 1 mm Hg. The photograph is the same oil before and after.

Settling
Settling vessel
Raw used oil is drawn from the storage tank into a settling vessel where the solids drop out.
Centrifuge and purifier
Two filters
The oil passes through a centrifuge and an oil purifier, which take out oily sludge, water and organic matter.
Dehydration and light cut
120 °C, then 180 to 220 °C at 710 mm Hg
In the first column, water comes off at 120 °C and the light cut is distilled at 180 to 220 °C under vacuum.
Thin-film distillation
310 to 320 °C at 1 mm Hg
The oil passes through a thin-film evaporator in an induction-heated molecular distillation plant under high vacuum and high temperature. The distillate comes out at about SAE 40 at ambient.
Clay bleaching
Active clay
The distilled oil is bleached with active clay to bring the colour up to a high-colour base oil.
Residue
Incinerator
The semi-solid residue is incinerated so that its oil content burns off completely.
Plant commissioning
We set up reclamation plants abroad.
Having run the Mamsa unit ourselves, we help clients set up used-oil reclamation plants in their own country. After erection, our engineers run five to seven trial batches and teach your operators to run the plant properly.
How the engagement works →Imports
Base oil and bitumen from the Gulf.
For over a decade we have imported SN500 base oil and paving-grade bitumen (60/70 and 85/100) from Gulf refineries for the western region of India. A UAE line answers on that side: +971 50 150 8686.
